Backpackβs new Blog site is up and running with Lads-centric features like:
Lads cut a rug at the Mad Speakeasy
kev4evaa and miklWinther are hosting weekly virtual meetups to chat about AI and web3 on Saturdays at 4PM UTC in the Mad Speakeasy.
Mad Speakeasy is a metaverse built in Portals where members of the Mad Lads community can visit to talk, play games or simply explore the world.
Leela, founder of Mad Speakeasy, began hosting interviews in the virtual world, a unique experience that brings life to conversations.
More regular events and interviews are coming down the pipe, follow and turn on notis for Mad Speakeasy.
Mad Speakeasy is open 24/7, visit it here.
LADS OF THE WEEK: The Taste Makers
Our LOTWs this week are the bull posters, the copy pasters, the consistent commentors, the taste makers who define what community in crypto means.
Emergence of the "Lads shit together" copypasta demonstrated that the Mad community can spin anything into a positive experience (inspired by newcomer KgnCnKhrmn's slight miscomm).
Solana Coach rallies the troops almost every single day with a Lads or Backpack bullpost (often times repping both).
These simple manifestations take hold in the mind and are strengthened with every repost.
Tristan dropped a simple statement of fact which kicked off a copypasta frenzy.
Occurrences of these shared moments are never ending in the Mad Lads community with new ones appearing every day.
Backpack Wallet isn't your average crypto wallet
Security and trust have been pillars of Backpack's build philosophy since day one and it is reflected in product.
Wallet has several user level features which set it apart from other platforms.
Multi-hardware support: Only wallet that supports three cold storage hardware providers
True 2/3 multisig: Only wallet to enable true 2/3 multisig with no single point of failure
Collection Locking for Solana NFTs: instantly rejects any transaction request (
)
Hide Balances: Keep your token balances and prices discreet with one click
Exploring Backpack's regional communities
Backpack_CN, Backpack_VN, Backpack_AFR and the upcoming Backpack [REDACTED] communities have been growing by leaps and bounds.
Vietnam is the single largest concentration of Lads holders who regularly host events and meetups.
Mad News publishes Vietnamese translations every week, see them at:
Backpack Africa has been instrumental in arranging ongoing Mad Lads and Backpack events in the region.
Members of the community regularly evangelize Mad Lads and Backpack at gatherings across the continent, most recently at the Lautech University campus in Nigeria.
Do you still have the skill to translate this manually?
Hint: its not "Drink more Ovaltine"!
AllDomains aggressively expanding into Solana ecosystem
AllDomains is back with more SVM integrations after introducing Solana domain support (.solana) at the end of September.
The self described "web3 identity asset layer" is available for use with Backpack Wallet only, currently.
You can now use Backpack Wallet to secure domains like:
.solana

.blink
.wen
.superteam
.based
Leading lady Moo Deng dominates memecoin markets
$MOODENG is a Solana-based memecoin that launched at the beginning of September after pygmy hippo Moo Deng began to reach virality on the internet.
Today, it is one of the most traded memecoins on Solana.
It is unclear who originally launched the token but it quickly surpassed a $200M market cap within several weeks (it has since cooled down to $100M+ at the time of writing this).
Moo Deng is a baby pygmy hippopotamus (hippo) that went viral on TikTok and Instagram as her playful and silly nature resonated with people around the world.
Jokke Sommers takes his Backpack everywhere
Backpack reaches new heights on the shoulders of Roster legend Jokke Sommer and his wingsuit.
Switch between networks in Backpack Wallet as fast as Jokke rockets past them.
Onboarding new networks to your Wallet is as simple as opening the drop down menu at top of Backpack app and selecting '+Add Network'.
Helius unlocks next evolution in ZK compression with AirShip
ZK (Zero Knowledge) compression is revolutionizing how we store data on-chain. By shrinking digital assets into manageable codes, it reduces storage costs by up to 1000x.
Heliusβs AirShip is a new tool for distributing mass airdrops, and Backpack Wallet is the first major platform to integrate it.
ZK (Zero Knowledge) compression is the most efficient way to store data on chain by creating a special code that represents assets.
The code is significantly smaller than the original digital asset and easier to manage.
Backpack is the first (and only) major wallet platform to integrate AirShip support.
Since then several projects like soltwurtle and babayaardvarkSOL have leveraged the technology to find a home in Backpack users portfolio.
Create your own AirShip and view compressed tokens on the Helius website.

Memecoins are all the rage according to new AI bot
pmarca backed AI bot called truth_terminal has been making waves on CT with it's degenerate behavior and predictions.
Punched up with personality that is indistinguishable from many human shitposters, terminal of truths is prolific to say the least
But it's important to remember I think; that this isn't a crypto project; it's a study in memetic contagion and the tail risks of unsupervised infinite idea generation in the age of LLMs!

ORE on a mission break the blockchain again
ORE announced their $3M capital raise nearly a moth ago and have been heads down building since.
Their new token distribution model operates as "PoW mining with a PoS multiplier" a la Boosts.
Boosts are our name for the staking multipliers applied to ORE mining rewards. They are a fundamentally new kind of cryptoeconomic incentive and composable with any existing token on Solana.
Notably, boosts can never alter the underlying supply function of ORE. No matter how many boosts are issued, ORE will continue to grow at a steady rate of ~1 ORE/min and stop at the predetermined supply cap of 21m tokens.
