Big wave surfer Tyler Larronde joins The Roster
Mad Lads added a new member to The Roster this week! Tyler Larronde is a professional surfer that has been riding big waves since childhood.
Tyler chronicles his journey chasing waves, angling for the biggest fish and being a mad fockin’ lad on his Instagram as well as being featured in countless YouTube videos.
The Roster is onboarding content creators that have a platform outside of the web3 world and have a goal to expand the Mad Lads brand to completely new audiences.
In an era saturated with content creators, The Roster stands out as a beacon of audacity and originality. Staying true to the Mad Lads philosophy, they fearlessly venture into uncharted territories, delivering content that is bound to captivate audiences beyond Web3.
MAD LAD OF THE WEEK: Blackfish
We are putting a special spotlight on the Lads and Lassies championing for Mad Lads and Backpack, starting with Blackfish.
Blackfish has showed up for the community since Day 1.
He was a leading member of the early subcommunity projects, developed the xNFT-based Mad Wars crypto trading competition (ongoing) and is a consummate reply guy.
More recently he led a Mad Lads crowdfunding campaign designed to elevate a dedicated community member to holder status.
Dozens of Mad Lads contributed and Armani Ferrante provided the final push LIVE on Sunday Stream #15 - see the full video here.

Jakey is back at it with another installment of the MAD MOVIE series.
MAD MOVIE 1 was our first introduction to Jakey and the “FOCK IT” mentality.
MAD MOVIE 2 took us on a pursuit of extreme fockin’ hobbies.
MAD MOVIE 3 cranks the action into overdrive as Jakey squeezes as much fun (and blood) out of Solana Summer as he can.

Solana Breakpoint is less than three months away. Mad Lads and Backpack will be hosting (at least) one event and every holder is invited.

F1 fans introduced to NFTs by Kraken’s Rear Wing Takeover
Kraken NFT launched the Rear Wing Takeover contest where winners see their NFT artwork on a Formula 1 race car during a live race.
Mad Lads holders are invited to submit their entry which includes:
a link to your NFT
a link to your Twitter account
a short description about why your NFT should win
Winners will see their NFT on one of two cars during the Formula 1 race in Austin, Texas on August 18th.
Hyperspace hints at new Backpack and Bonfida integrations
Hyperspace, the Solana NFT marketplace aggregator, dropped a cryptic Tweet tagging both Backpack and Bonfida.
Memos function adds new depth to blockchain records
Memos, a new function in Solana’s Token-2022 program, allows users to “hard-code memos and messages into their transactions which will be permanently stored in the blockchain”.
Token-2022 adds more functionality to the native SPL (Solana Public Library) token program.

Solana Speedrun scores Michael Jordan level of entries
23 brand new blockchain games were submitted to the Solana Speedrun Gamejam. Challengers had 120 hours to build a functional game and submit for judging.
xNFT Speedrun track wins a Mad Lad NFT
xNFT track challengers had an additional task to complete - submitting their game to the xNFT Library.
Five teams rose to the occasion:

The Last Dwarf - “rekindle dwarven legacy”
Crispr Kiss - “avoid Crisprs and get them to kiss!”
Alpaca Run - “the cutest endless adventure”

MadScape is back with a major update
You can now wager SOL in MadScape’s fully on-chain arena duels.

xNFT dev resources released for OPOS (Only Possible On Solana) hackathon
Backpack released a guide to xNFTs for builders working in the xNFT track during the OPOS hackathon.

New program announced for reduced Breakpoint ticket prices
Solana has placed an emphasis on increasing the opportunities for Breakpoint attendees to score discounted tickets.
The Activation Program will award a limited number of free tickets to creators in exchange for putting together an experiential activation.
